Australian assembled RHD Dodge Phoenix. Restoration to original condition planned

This 1964 Right Hand Drive Dodge Phoenix was purchased in the mid North Island of New Zealand. It is an original RHD car built for the Australian market and has lived for most of its life in what is assumed to be the dry inland areas of Australia. Although it has a fair amount of heavy surface rust, the body is generally very solid with only small areas of actual rust holes in some parts of the lower rear guards, window seal creases and the bonnet. It has been off the road since 1982, with its last registration sticker ( still on the car ) from that date. The vehicle has a bullet hole in the windscreen and may have had an interesting history in Australia ? Since being in N.Z. from approximately 2,000, it has been moved around to various lock-ups throughout the North Island and then eventually left outside. It is really quite original, with very little missing from the vehicle. As yet the condition of the 318 "Poly" motor and Push Button Auto gearbox are unknown, although they are not ceased. The car has been cleaned of years worth of moss and mould on the exterior with a plan in place to initially recondition the motor and box, then possibly fitting disc brakes on the front end. Then proceeding to bring it back to an original roadworthy driving condition.
